A calm moment

Posted on July 2, 2015 at 2:58 PM Comments comments (28)
A calm moment is a rare find in any woman’s chaotic day. But she needs it. She needs the moment to refocus and refresh her soul. She needs the inspiration to find God in the mess and the mundane that often defines her. She craves the solitude of a moment with the Master to quiet the storms. She needs to laugh and remember why she loves being who she is.

Do you ever get a calm moment? You need to take one every day no matter what or where you are. God needs you to be free of restrictions, distractions and any other worldly obstacles in your way.
Open your arms wide be filled with the Holy Spirit and enjoy your time.

Joyfully,
Cindy

Walk In Faith sayings

Posted on February 10, 2014 at 2:09 PM Comments comments (23)
Here are a few good reminders regarding TRUTH 1 !!!!!!

The best way is not always the easy way…but with God all things are possible.

Amen: The end of a prayer and the beginning of an answer

God will shine through—guaranteed

The steps you’ve taken are significant ones. And the journey in front of you has a pathway you were uniquely created to travel

I walk the road of life one step at a time, holding the hand of Jesus in mine.

Threre’s more happiness in a single moment of God’s presence than in anything

Reflecting

Posted on February 3, 2014 at 2:50 AM Comments comments (53)
I am Having one of those moments-no hours, wait it's days where I find myself just reflecting on so many blessed moments in my life. I find myself smiling and then all of the sudden reality sets back in as the voices I hear are getting closer and more distinguished. The grand boys are playing around instead of sleeping, my husband is walking past me mumbling under his breathe, my daughter is shush...ing the boys to be quiet and then to top every thing off my computer is acting crazy again.
How can I find just one little corner to do my devotionals, thank you cards, answer emails and listen to all my voice mail?

I CANT!!! Not Here as I find myself sitting at a way to small of a desk and with a large stack of bills. I suddenly remember a verse from Psalm 6:2-4 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. Well by now I know there is more to this Psalm but I cant remember any more of the verses, so out comes my bible and as my fingers are turning the pages so I may read more of this psalm I felt water lightly falling on my face while my hair is blown back and up like a cockatail bird. It's raining up here in RSM with a few good gusts of wind. Of course, I jumped back and closed the window and proceeded to finish reading psalm 6 and concluding my so much of a quiet time by thanking the Lord for all I have and for each special person that He has blessed me with... Have a great week friends.
Joyfully,

God Makes You Secure

God Makes You Secure -From Devotionals Daily

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. — Isaiah 41:10
Question: Who among us never struggles with insecurity?
Answer: No one.
Insecurity is a universal phenomenon that paralyzes some folks and sends others into a frantic scramble.
Insecurity basically means we feel uncertain. We can’t relax because we are fearful that something negative might happen to us, and we are unsure as to how to respond.
Today’s promise is perfect for all the insecure moments of life. It eases our fear and diminishes our apprehension by reminding us that the living God is always with us. Can we get more secure than that? The One with all power and the ultimate source of help assures His people of the strength and aid they need in every situation.
Joyfully,
Cindy

Necessary Change- Are you up for this?

Necessary Change November 5, 2013 By: Julie Clinton of Extraordinary Women
If you have never read my front page of this website it will have a great similarity to what Julie is saying here. Please enjoy what she wrote as everyone not just us women could use this encouragement.
Joyful reading to you all.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17 I love the classic movie, “Anne of Green Gables.” One of my favorite lines from Anne is, “Tomorrow is a brand new day with no mistakes in it!” One of the best things about life is that tomorrow doesn’t have to be the same as today. You can learn new habits, get rid of unwanted old ones, and do something about it. You can be secure that Christ’s love for you is unchanging. Being firm and secure in that knowledge allows you the freedom to make needed changes in your own life. Knowing that God really loves you includes understanding that He wants the best for you and is willing to help you get it. He will help and support you through the choices and changes you need to make. He will be with you all the way. James 1:8 says that if we lack wisdom we can go to Him and He will guide us. Take a minute for personal reflection. Though God’s love is unchanging, how do you need to change in order to more fully embrace His love and friendship? Do you need to accept yourself before you can accept God’s love more fully? Do you need to forgive yourself and/or others before you bathe in His love? Do you need to trust your heavenly Father more?  Take your needs to Him in prayer. Yearn to be more like Him. Allow His unchanging love to change you!

The Armor of God

Posted on June 30, 2013 at 2:04 PM Comments comments (11)
Lately I have been talking to a fair amount of women who have been trying to dodge the fiery arrows of the enemy. When I tell them that I have been doing the same but my defense is scripture such as Ephesians 6:16 - Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Faith forms an impenetrable wall of fire around you and with scripture no weapon formed against you shall prosper. So, the next time you are feeling overwhelmed by the enemy please make sure that you have your full body of armor on.
Ephesians 6:10-18
[ The Armor of God ] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ...

 AMEN!!

Devote yourselves to prayer...

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 7:22 PM Comments comments (11)

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving: Colossians 4:2 NASB

I just love all the different versions ofthe bible when it comes to certain passages like today's. In the Message Bible it reads: Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide open in gratitude. Or in the NIV version it says it this way- Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. I chose the NASB version because I like the word attitude which if we are all honest with ourselves we all can have an attitude of some sorts and most of the time it's not one of thanksgiving.

The word “devote”means to grab hold of something and not let go. To me it means to hang on no matter what happens. You never give up on prayer even when it seems useless. The dictionary defines devotion as profound dedication; religious observance or worship; a form of prayer or worship for special use. No matter what way you look at just this word Devote - it still comes out meaning to always be ready to pray. Pray when you feel like it, pray when you don’t feel like it.Pray when you believe in it, pray when you doubt it. Pray when your heart is filled with faith, pray when you do it by habit. Do you ever feel like giving up? Paul says, “Keep at it!”

The next two beautiful words are keeping alert which means to “stay awake.” Have you ever noticed how easy it is to be distracted when you pray? Just as you bow your head, the phone rings, or some music distracts you, or you suddenly remember that you have to check the roast in the oven. A thousand things come crowding into your mind. Sometimes it seems as if the enemy's best work comes when we decide to pray. He unloads his full armory of distractions against us. Or perhaps you decide to spend an hour in prayer. So you get on your knees and begin to pray. You pray for yourself, the members of your family, all your friends, the leaders of your church, the missionaries you know, then all the missionaries in the world, then every country in the world. When you feel like it has been close to an hour you look up and discover you’ve only been prayingfor fifteen minutes! Bottom line here is keeping alert to the enemies arrows by the distractions or by the disappointments you may feel when you continue to pray the same prayer year after year.

Then next for this short but powerful sentence is “attitude of gratitude or thanksgiving as stated in the NASB,” First things first and that is first, when you wake up in the morning, take time to give thanks to the Lord for the day that stretches before you. Thank him in advance for all that will happen that day. Do it before your feet hit the floor. Second, when you are tempted to lose your temper during the day, instead of counting to ten, take a few seconds to count ten blessings you have received. You may find that your anger has melted away. Third, when you are interrupted (as we all are every day), instead of being exasperated, remember that God rules over the “interruptions” of life, and what seems an “interruption” to us is really his rearrangement of our plans. So take time to thank him for the interruptions as they come to you. Fourth, when you climb into your bed at night, take time again to review the day, giving thanks for the blessings you have experienced and for God’s protection every step of the way.

Joy to you and may your day be one of true devotion to our Lord...Thank you to - Keep Believing Ministries for your words.

Joyfully, Cindy

The Power of the Cross

Posted on January 30, 2013 at 6:21 PM Comments comments (16)

No matter how weary you may be, how discouraged, howbruised by life and its problems, The Power of the Cross can truly impact yourdaily life and spiritual growth. What is the power of the cross? Jesus ofcourse!!  He endured the cross for youand I and all the other you and I’s out there. Could we do what Jesus did? Comeon be honest to yourself? I honestly don’t think I could withstand all thebeatings or the humiliation from all the scoffers’ day in and day out.

The Power of the Cross is there for you and I to notonly learn from it but to allow us to                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             feel the Lords forgiveness, love, grace, mercyand so much more. But are we laying everything at the cross? I do, until Istart listening and acting in the flesh…

I have two pictures of Jesus in our home and every timeI feel that the enemy is nipping at my heels I always try and look at thepictures and I start to pray. No matter what stage of spirituality you

are in, and no matter what is going on at any particularmoment in your life remember the power of the Cross.

One way to think of the cross is this think of it as acompass which shows you the way back home while out camping, fishing, etc. Prayfor God to remind you of the power of the cross, use the power of the cross asyour compass and you will never be lost or lacking in hope and joy.

Are you taking in all your moments

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 9:46 AM Comments comments (2)

In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

Are you taking in all your moments?

Ahhhh... a moment to catch my breath, a moment to hear the sound of nothing, it’s quiet the stars are shining so bright this morning and the air is cool and crisp as I take in a deep long breath. Good morning Father, I love you and thank you for this moment of peace so I may reflect on what you brought to me yesterday and thinking did I do all I could do to honor you not only yesterday but each day you give me? How many moments have come and gone, wasted on mindless tasks or ignorant thoughts. No wonder I feel worn out and very little to show for it- all the moments of silence that I have ignored which have led to missed opportunities of hearing what you were saying. Yet you still love me, forgive me, and wait for me to catch not only a moment of peace but a moment where I feel your presence and your sweet mercy and grace that you rain down on me. Sitting here I remember reading once “which came first, the avoidance of silence or the busynesss?"

Lord, I pray to you that not only today but all the tomorrows I will remember to take the still moments before You and to welcome what each day has to offer. I want to continue to Honor You each day. Celebrate the time you are allowing me to have with my family, friends and those who you put in my path to guide them to your feet.

God I ask that you grant me a heart, mind and spirit that are open to all the todays and tomorrows and to help me to hear your voice God and to be aware of all that you shall reveal to me. I love you Lord with all I have.. Amen

Joyfully,
Cindy

A Sweet Perfume

A Sweet Perfume

This week as we gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving let us be reminded of the sweet fragrance we can be to others.

Follow God's example therefore, as dearly loved children andwalk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us asa fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

Do any of you just get so frustrated and are getting ready to lose that one last nerve left in your body when someone will wave you over and want to share with you all their happy talk? Meanwhile, your staring at the person in front of you watching their mouth moving but you can't hear them because you are wallowing in your own unhappiness.

Our bad attitude and critical spirit spreads like a bad odor to those who come into contact with you and then on top of that you are pulling others down to your selfish level.  If you remember doing this to others then I am sure you don't see a pretty picture.

However, the opposite is also true. If I can maintain a positive attitude and make a real effort to treat all I meet with love and kindness, that will also spread to others. Oh, what a joy it is to be able to spread to others the love of God. By allowing God's love to flow through me (us), We can be like a sweet perfume to others so they will be better off by having been with me(us).

So as you eat your turkey, toast your glasses together and ask for one more piece of pumpkin pie check your own humble pie and remember this quote from Mother Teresa "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. "

Happy Thanksgiving,

Joyfully,

Cindy
